Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. She made the move to Oxfordshire when she was five which is where she went to at the Dragon School. Emma was just six when she decided she wanted to be an actor. She was trained for many years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a partially-time theater school in Oxford where she studied acting and singing. It was already her turn to perform in a variety of Stagecoach as well as school plays when she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents thanks to Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been chosen for these roles. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film on the screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. It was also the most well-received film of the year. The opening days and weekends of the sales were unbeatable. Many critics have praised the film, as well as the performances by the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, called Emma's portrayal "amazing". Then Emma was nominated for five awards based on her performance in the film. She was the winner of an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film.
